Course Description
The aim of this course is to teach the basic concepts related to computer networks and the layered network architecture and provide students a background on academic studies on computer networks.
Textbook
- Computer Networks: A top-down approach, Kurose and Ross, Addison-Wesley.
- A short reading list of reference papers
Grading
Midterm exam - 25% (28/11/2018 09:30)
Research report and presentation- 25%
Final exam 40%
Attendance 10%
Research reports
- Students will prepare a survey or a research report as 2 person teams.
- When selecting research topics you can use these conferences or these journals
- Students will present their results in class starting Dec 5th. The schedule of presentations will be announced later.
- Reports must be prepapered in IEEE format.
- Report due date is 11/01/2019.
- Project reports and presentations should be submitted to department's submit system (http://submit.cs.hacettepe.edu.tr).
In order to login to the submit system, you must have a account from the departmental servers.
