I received my BSc, MSc and PhD degrees from Department of Computer Engineering at Bilkent University in 2000, 2002 and 2008 respectively. During my PhD studies, I was a visiting scholar at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), under the supervision of Prof David Forsyth.

I am currently an assistant professor in Hacettepe University, Ankara, Turkey. Before joining here, I was a post-doctoral research associate at Boston University, working with Prof Stan Sclaroff.

My research interests include computer vision, especially human action recognition in images and videos, pattern recognition and multimedia data mining. I serve as a reviewer for scientific journals including IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence(TPAMI), IEEE Transactions on Multimedia and in major computer vision and pattern recognition conferences, including International Conference on Computer Vision (ICCV) and IEEE International Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition (CVPR).
