Who can take this course?/Bu dersi kimler alabilir?

• In the past, computer engineering, geomatics engineering, mechanical engineering, geology engineering and civil engineering students registered to this course and they become very successful. I invite students from all disciplines.
• Geçmişte bilgisayar mühendisliği, geomatik mühendisliği, makine mühendisliği ve inşaat mühendisliği öğrencileri bu derse kayıt oldular ve çok başarılı oldular. Tüm disiplinlerden öğrencileri bu dersi almaya davet ediyorum.

Ethics

• It is critically important to follow the rules of ethics in preparing your midterm and final documents. Watch this video, which is in Turkish.
• Teslim edeceğiniz dokümanlarla ilgili yayın etiği kurallarına riayet etmeniz çok önemlidir. Türkçe kaydettiğim şu videoyu izleyin.

Reading Project for Midterm/Arasınav için Okuma Projesi

• Choose a paper from the recent literature. Read it and write your own code to confirm the findings of the paper. Present your own report together with the original paper in pdf. Use any programming language you want and include all source in your report. Midterm report format is free, it has to be a pdf file. If you find a good paper from another source/journal, please get my approval before studying it. Conference papers are not counted. Papers providing source code are not counted.
• Literatürden bir makale seçiniz, seçtiğiniz makaleyi detaylıca okuyunuz ve makalenin bulgularını siz de kendi kodunuzu yazarak üretiniz, makaleyi doğrulayınız. Kendi raporunuzu orijinal makale ile birlikte pdf formatında teslim ediniz. İstediğiniz programlama dilini kullanabilirsiniz. Geliştirdiğiniz tüm kaynak kodlarını raporunuzla birlikte teslim ediniz. Arasınav raporunun belirleniş bir formatı yoktur. Dilediğiniz formatta (pdf olalrak) teslim ediniz. Bu liste dışında bir kaynaktan makale bulursanız mutlaka benden onay alın. Konferanslarda yayımlanmış eserler arasınav projesi için sayılmaz. Kaynak kodunu da veren makaleler arasınav çalışması için sayılmaz.
• Fix your midterm reading/coding paper till the end of 3rd week of the semester.
• Dönemin en geç 3. haftasının bitiminde tüm öğrenciler arasınav okuma/kodlama makalesini belirlemelidir.
• You cannot study the subject determined by your thesis teacher as a project in this course. You cannot use a reading/research assignment given in another course in this course.
• Tez hocanızın belirlediği konuyu bu derste proje olarak çalışamazsınız. Bir başka derste verilen okuma/araştırma ödevini bu derste kullanamazsınız.

Projects for Final/Final Sınavı Projeleri

• Control, robotics, identification, image processing, speech recognition, nonlinear filter/system design and solutions to challenging problems can be considered as the subject for projects. One can choose a title other than these as well. Please contact me in that case.
• Kontrol, robotik, tanılama, sinyal ve görüntü işleme, ses işleme, doğrusal olmayan süzgeç/sistem tasarımı, denektaşı problemlerinin çözümleri konularında proje yapılabilir. Bunların dışında da proje konusu seçilebilir. Bununla ilgili olarak benimle iletişime geçiniz.
• Click here to see/get several datasets that can be used in the projects. IEEE Dataport, or Kaggle are other alternatives to get datatsets.
• Projelerde kullanılmak üzere veri kümeleri arayan öğrenciler bu bağlantıya tıklayabilir. IEEE Dataport sitesi veya Kaggle'da veri kümesi bulmak için kullanılabilir.
• Prepare your project report in 2 column IEEE conference paper format.
• Proje raporunuzu IEEE 2 Kolon formatında hazırlayınız.
• Fix your final project problem till the 4th week of the semester.
• Dönemin en geç 4. haftasında tüm öğrenciler proje konularını belirlemelidir.
• No presentations will take place. Only the 6 pages long report and Matlab codes (in a CD/flash) will be submitted.
• Proje sunumu yapılmayacaktır. Sadece 6 sayfalık rapor ve Matlab kodları (CD ortamında/flash bellek) teslim edilecektir.
• Reports will be in .docx and .pdf formats (both!)
• Rapor MS Word ve pdf olarak teslim edilecektir.
• Please make sure that the code you submitted via the CD work as desired. Projects, to which the associated code does not work, will not be considered.

• Inserting comments that explain how the code works is obligatory.

• To teach the black box models based on numerical data or experience

• To teach the notion of adaptive systems
• Uyarlamalı sistem kavramını öğretmek
• To teach -some of- the approaches in intelligent systems research

• To use a CAD software and CAD based simulation
